As a part of ongoing efforts to enhance cybersecurity and technological awareness of the Technological Military College cadets, Prof. Dr. Ghada Amer, a cybersecurity expert, delivered a lecture on cyber threats and data security in the digital age.
During the lecture, Prof. Dr. Ghada Amer reviewed the most prominent cyber threats facing nations, institutions, and individuals. She emphasized that modern warfare is no longer limited to conventional weapons, but now includes cyberattacks targeting critical infrastructure and the important information. She also explained the impact of cyber breaches, network attacks, and cyber espionage on national security.
She emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures, such as using advanced protection systems, implementing cybersecurity policies, and providing continuous training for personnel in the military and technological fields to minimize risks and secure vital data and information. She also highlighted the importance of enhancing security culture among the cadets, reflecting that while modern technology offers great benefits, it is also representing a double-edged sword if not used and secured properly.
The lecture is a part of a series of awareness events and seminars organized by the College aimed at preparing cadets to keep pace with rapid technological developments and strengthening their abilities to confront future security challenges. It also reflects the college’s commitment to equipping its cadets with the knowledge necessary to protect data and information, and to empower them to play an active role in safeguarding national security from modern cyber threats.
At the end, Prof. Dr. Ghada Amer responded to the cadets’ inquiries, stressing the need for continued learning and training in the field of cybersecurity to address the growing challenges in this area and to protect national security from any potential digital threats.
