About Technological Military College

After the 1967 war, the decision was taken to rebuild the Armed Forces, remove the effects of enemy and conduct studies in all disciplines to identify shortcomings and draw lessons learned from the war, therefore, a study was carried out on how to prepare technical cadres and the technical support system through benefiting from some countries advanced in such field including the Soviet Union.

Development Of The Armed Forces Technical Institute

Due to the rapid and tremendous development of the Armed Forces armament system, the Armed Forces Technical Institute had to be developed to the Technological Military College to keep up pace with technological development in modern armament systems to graduate qualified officers with (technical, scientific and leadership) competence and provide integrated technological specialized education of comparable quality to the world’s education systems. The decision to establish the Technological Military College was made under Law No.150 of 2022 during the presidency of President / Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Republic, supreme commander of the Armed Forces.

1967

After the 1967 war, the decision was taken to rebuild the Armed Forces, remove the effects of enemy and conduct studies in all disciplines to identify shortcomings and draw lessons learned from the war, therefore, a study was carried out on how to prepare technical cadres and the technical support system through benefiting from some countries advanced in such field including the Soviet Union.

The Armed Forces Technical Institute qualifies technical officers to work in the technical support of the Armed Forces which includes the following: (Technical Use – Maintenance – Repair – Technical Supply – Recovery – Technical Training) To serve efficiently in repairing units and workshops as well as educational, technical, and occupational institutions of the Armed Forces.

In October 1973 War, the officers graduated from the Technical Institute has demonstrated significant efforts to achieve the technical support for all weapons and equipment involved in the battle, so they were one of the main axes that contributed to achieve the great October victory.

2022

The Armed Forces Technical Institute had to be developed to the Technological Military College to keep up pace with technological development in modern armament systems to graduate qualified officers with (technical, scientific and leadership) competence and provide integrated technological specialized education of comparable quality to the world’s education systems.

As a part of the Armed Forces’ commitment to cooperate with various ministries and educational institutions across the country to prepare and qualify human resources in various specializations, which will achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030, the Technological Military College organized the 12th session of the Supreme Council for Technological Education In collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Major General Alhossein Mostafa Sharaf, Commandant of the Technological Military College, delivered a speech in which he emphasized that holding the Supreme Council for Technological Education session at the Technological Military College reflects the strong ties and ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to develop the education and training system in Egypt, in addition to enhance the human resources. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has referred to the Egyptian state commitment to develop the Technical Education through creating a new pathway that equips the cadets with scientific and practical skills in line with international quality standards, contributing to the localization of technology and the enhancement of local industry efficiency. The session’s activities included discussions on developing academic programs in technological universities, in order to strengthening technological education in Egypt and linking it to the labor market needs through partnerships with major industrial and technological institutions.

As a part of ongoing efforts to enhance cybersecurity and technological awareness of the Technological Military College cadets, Prof. Dr. Ghada Amer, a cybersecurity expert, delivered a lecture on cyber threats and data security in the digital age. During the lecture, Prof. Dr. Ghada Amer reviewed the most prominent cyber threats facing nations, institutions, and individuals. She emphasized that modern warfare is no longer limited to conventional weapons, but now includes cyberattacks targeting critical infrastructure and the important information. She also explained the impact of cyber breaches, network attacks, and cyber espionage on national security. She emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures, such as using advanced protection systems, implementing cybersecurity policies, and providing continuous training for personnel in the military and technological fields to minimize risks and secure vital data and information. She also highlighted the importance of enhancing security culture among the cadets, reflecting that while modern technology offers great benefits, it is also representing a double-edged sword if not used and secured properly. The lecture is a part of a series of awareness events and seminars organized by the College aimed at preparing cadets to keep pace with rapid technological developments and strengthening their abilities to confront future security challenges. It also reflects the college’s commitment to equipping its cadets with the knowledge necessary to protect data and information, and to empower them to play an active role in safeguarding national security from modern cyber threats. At the end, Prof. Dr. Ghada Amer responded to the cadets’ inquiries, stressing the need for continued learning and training in the field of cybersecurity to address the growing challenges in this area and to protect national security from any potential digital threats.

As part of a series of intellectual seminars and meetings organized by the Technological Military College, aiming to raise national awareness among cadets and inform them of the most prominent developments and challenges facing the Egyptian state, Major General Dr. Samir Farag, a Strategic Thinker, met with the cadets in an open discussion addressing national and regional challenges. During the meeting, Major General Dr. Samir Farag presented the key challenges facing the Egyptian state at the domestic and foreign levels, pointing to the efforts made to enhance stability and development across various fields. He discussed regional and international issues related to Egyptian national security, emphasizing the importance of awareness and sound understanding of current events and the challenges facing the homeland. The meeting witnessed significant interaction from the cadets, who asked many questions and inquiries about national and regional issues. Major General Dr. Samir Farag emphasized the importance of knowledge and awareness in building the personality of the Technological Military College cadet, stressing the importance of youth as the backbone of the nation and its future leaders. In conclusion, Major General Dr. Samir Farag stressed the need to instill values of loyalty, belonging, and discipline, as well as to develop scientific and research skills so that cadets can become effective contributors to sustainable development and defenders of the homeland. The cadets expressed their appreciation for this valuable opportunity to hear a clear strategic vision on national issues, affirming their pride in belonging to the Technological Military College and their eagerness to contribute sincerely to serving the nation.
